Big Brother Sober Living is a sober living home in Elgin, Illinois that provides men residents with a safe, substance-free place to live during early recovery. Like other quality recovery residences, a sober living home is built around three things that research consistently ties to lasting recovery: stable, drug- and alcohol-free housing, peer support from others who understand what early sobriety feels like, and structure and accountability that help rebuild healthy daily routines. Residents here have access to MAT-friendly, On-site manager, Drug testing, Employment help, and 12-step focused.
Most structured sober living homes ask residents to stay substance-free, attend recovery meetings, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, follow a curfew, complete household chores, and either work, attend school, or actively look for a job. These expectations aren't there to be punitive — they're the scaffolding that keeps a house safe and gives residents the consistency that protects early sobriety. When you contact Big Brother Sober Living, ask them to walk you through their specific house rules, curfew, guest policy, and how long a typical stay lasts so you know exactly what you're agreeing to.
Rent at Big Brother Sober Living starts around $997/month. The exact figure usually depends on whether you choose a private or shared room and which services are included, so confirm the current rate when you call. Many sober living homes offer scholarships or sliding-scale rates for residents who need them — it's always worth asking.
When comparing homes in Elgin, ask whether the residence is certified by a NARR-affiliated state organization (the National Alliance for Recovery Residences). Certification indicates a home has agreed to recognized operating and ethical standards.
Big Brother Sober Living is marked MAT-friendly, so residents on medication-assisted treatment — such as Suboxone (buprenorphine), methadone, or Vivitrol (naltrexone) — are welcome. If you're on MAT, confirm the specifics of the home's policy when you call.
