About this home

Citronia Recovery is a co-ed sober-living home in Tarzana, serving adults in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley since 2017. It is a nonclinical, substance-free shared home with a live-in house manager, clear house expectations and shared responsibilities. Any clinical care is provided separately by independent treatment providers. The home has room for 10 residents, two per bedroom. Couples are welcome to share a room; otherwise men and women stay in separate rooms. Each week, residents attend two 12-step or other recovery-based meetings and a Sunday house meeting. They also complete twice-weekly random drug testing, keep a daily chore, and follow an 11 p.m. weekday curfew (midnight on Fridays and Saturdays). Wi-Fi, cable TV, streaming, laundry, towels, full bedding and household essentials are included. Residents share the living room, dining area and kitchen; food is not provided. Prescribed medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is welcome, and medication is kept in a locked box. Transportation to important appointments, IOP and job interviews can be arranged on request, and staff can help with introductions to outside outpatient and IOP providers. Citronia does not bill insurance for housing. Contact staff for current rates, bed availability and tours.

About Citronia Recovery

Citronia Recovery is a sober living home in Tarzana, California that provides co-ed residents (men and women) with a safe, substance-free place to live during early recovery. Like other quality recovery residences, a sober living home is built around three things that research consistently ties to lasting recovery: stable, drug- and alcohol-free housing, peer support from others who understand what early sobriety feels like, and structure and accountability that help rebuild healthy daily routines. Residents here have access to MAT-friendly, Transportation, On-site manager, Drug testing, Employment help, and 12-step focused.

What to expect living here

Most structured sober living homes ask residents to stay substance-free, attend recovery meetings, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, follow a curfew, complete household chores, and either work, attend school, or actively look for a job. These expectations aren't there to be punitive — they're the scaffolding that keeps a house safe and gives residents the consistency that protects early sobriety. When you contact Citronia Recovery, ask them to walk you through their specific house rules, curfew, guest policy, and how long a typical stay lasts so you know exactly what you're agreeing to.

What does sober living cost in Tarzana?

Rent at Citronia Recovery starts around $1500/month. The exact figure usually depends on whether you choose a private or shared room and which services are included, so confirm the current rate when you call. Many sober living homes offer scholarships or sliding-scale rates for residents who need them — it's always worth asking.

Certification & standards

When comparing homes in Tarzana, ask whether the residence is certified by a NARR-affiliated state organization (the National Alliance for Recovery Residences). Certification indicates a home has agreed to recognized operating and ethical standards.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)

Citronia Recovery is marked MAT-friendly, so residents on medication-assisted treatment — such as Suboxone (buprenorphine), methadone, or Vivitrol (naltrexone) — are welcome. If you're on MAT, confirm the specifics of the home's policy when you call.
